The National Rehabilitation Education Conference is a means of facilitating communication and sharing information among professionals involved in training, recruiting, hiring and enhancing the development of qualified rehabilitation counselors. National Council on Rehabilitation Education (NCRE), Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR) and Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA).

Carol Dobak, Acting Deputy RSA Deputy Commissioner and Acting Commissioner

Carol Dobak is the Director of the State Monitoring and Program Improvement Division within the Rehabilitation Services Administration.  She is also serving as the Acting Deputy RSA Deputy Commissioner and Acting Commissioner.  She will provide both a broad overview of RSA activities and a specific focus on activities related to the Rehabilitation Training program.  She will touch on the status of the implementation of WIOA, especially with respect to ongoing technical assistance, monitoring, and data collection as well as on the current payback procedures, the expectation for funding over the next couple of years, and the outlook for possible grant competitions.

Please make sure to reserve your room early. Rooms at the conference rate are limited and cannot be guaranteed.  The NCRE room block is only reserved for those who have registered and plan to attend the conference.

Negotiated Room Rate is available from Tuesday, October 24, 2017 to Sunday, October 29, 2017.

The cutoff date for room reservations at the conference rate of $179.00 a night for a single or double room is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2017 by 5:00PM ET or until the NCRE contracted room block is sold out, whichever comes first. FREE Internet is included in the guest sleeping rooms.

Complimentary Airport Shuttle Service

Shuttle Name: Marriott Crystal Gateway (South Loop)

Because the shuttle is a complementary service, unfortunately there are no reservations for pickup at the airport. The shuttle runs on a continuous loop to and from the airport starting at 5:00AM and ending at 12:00AM.

From the conference hotel, the shuttle’s schedule is as follows:

5:00AM – 6:00AM, the shuttle departs every 30 minutes (5:00AM, 5:30AM 6:00AM etc.).

6:00AM- 12:00AM, the shuttle departs from the hotel every 20 minutes (6:20AM, 6:40AM, 7:00AM, 7:20AM, etc.)

Continuing Education Units

Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) will be available Thursday, October 26, 2017 – Saturday, October 28 2017 for the following: Pre-Conference Workshops, General, and Concurrent Sessions and Poster Presentations conducted during the conference. CEU’s for ethics and general credits will be available to all CRC holders. The CRCC forms will be available onsite at the registration desk and will include more detailed information needed to obtain CEU’s.
