Fall 2018 NCRE/RSA/CSAVR National Rehabilitation Education Conference Overview

The National Rehabilitation Education Conference is a means of facilitating communication and sharing information among professionals involved in training, recruiting, hiring and enhancing the development of qualified rehabilitation counselors. National Council on Rehabilitation Education (NCRE), Council of State Administrators of Vocational Rehabilitation (CSAVR) and Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA).

NCRE Featuring The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) on VR Practices and Youth

NCRE is excited to announce a special added feature to this year’s conference. The Rehabilitation Research and Training Center (RRTC) on VR Practices and Youth will offer a unique set of State of the Science sessions related to delivering quality VR services to youth. The RRTC is partnering with several technical assistance centers to conduct sessions that address key challenges and suggest useful strategies for VR practitioners and educators. Themes include staff competencies needed to providing service to youth and young adults, using evidence to improve VR practices, and the VR role in inclusive higher education. The Draft Agenda is 10 pages. Concurrent and Poster Presentations to include title, presenters and abstracts will be shared by the end of September.

Registration Membership and Reduced Registration

The Fall 2018 conference begins with the July 1, 2018 – July 1, 2019 membership year. Therefore, in order to receive a reduced rate for this conference you have to renew or become a member of the July 1, 2018 – July 1, 2019 membership year.

Hotel Reservations – Now Open

Please make sure to reserve your room early. Rooms at the conference rate are limited and cannot be guaranteed.  The NCRE room block is only reserved for those who have registered and plan to attend the conference.

Negotiated Room Rate is available from Tuesday, October 23, 2018 to Sunday, October 28, 2018.

The cutoff date for room reservations at the conference rate of $179.00 a night for a single or double room is FRIDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2018 by 6:00PM ET or until the NCRE contracted room block is sold out, whichever comes first.

FREE Internet is included in the guest sleeping rooms.

Complimentary Airport Shuttle Service

Shuttle Name: Marriott Crystal Gateway (South Loop)

Because the shuttle is a complementary service, unfortunately there are no reservations for pickup at the airport. The shuttle runs on a continuous loop to and from the airport starting at 5:00AM and ending at 12:00AM.

From the conference hotel, the shuttle’s schedule is as follows:

5:00AM – 6:00AM, the shuttle departs every 30 minutes (5:00AM, 5:30AM 6:00AM etc.).

6:00AM- 12:00AM, the shuttle departs from the hotel every 20 minutes (6:20AM, 6:40AM, 7:00AM, 7:20AM, etc.)

Continuing Education Units

Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) will be available Thursday, October 25, 2018 – Saturday, October 27, 2018 for the following: Pre-Conference Workshops, General, and Concurrent Sessions and Poster Presentations conducted during the conference. CEU’s for ethics and general credits will be available to all CRC holders. The CRCC forms will be available onsite at the registration desk and will include more detailed information needed to obtain CEU’s.
