Position Title: Assistant Professor of Practice

The Counselor Education department is seeking to hire a .50 FTE (half-time) non-tenure-track Clinical Rehabilitation faculty member. We are most interested in candidates who can provide excellent instruction in the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program. Applicants should have a record that shows promise of success in creative and engaged instruction, scholarship, and supervision.
Responsibilities for Position:
•Teach courses in the department’s CACREP curriculum.
•Serve as an academic advisor to students in the Clinical Rehabilitation counseling program.
•Participate in community outreach and partnerships.
•Serve on University, Graduate School of Education, and Department committees as assigned.
•Actively collaborate with core faculty on departmental administrative activities.
This is a one-year appointment with the possibility of continuation/renewal.
•Earned Master’s Degree from a CORE/CACREP accredited program.
•Experience/interest in teaching Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling courses.
•Experience providing counseling supervision to rehabilitation counseling students.
•Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC) or eligibility to become a CRC.
•Successful completion of a criminal background check.
•Earned Ph.D. from a CORE/CACREP accredited program.
•Identification with and preparation as a rehabilitation counselor or disability-related field.
•Experience providing mental health and/or career counseling to people with disabilities.
•Ability to teach clinical rehabilitation courses such as Foundations of Rehabilitation Counseling, Medical Aspects of Disability, Psychosocial Aspects of Disability, and/or Career Counseling.
•Experience or capacity to develop/cultivate long-term relationships with various stakeholders, in particular, local, national/state governmental agencies (e.g., Rehabilitation Services Administration, National Institute on Disability, Oregon Board of Licenses Professional Counselors and Therapists, Oregon Office of Vocational Rehabilitation Division).
•Capacity to advise diverse students in the Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling Program.
•Eligibility for Oregon licensed professional counselor (LPC).
Total compensation range and benefits:
The starting annual salary rate for this position will be $60,597 ($30,298.5 at .5 FTE) with an excellent benefits package including 95% premium paid healthcare; a generous retirement and vacation package; and reduced tuition rates for employee, spouse or dependent at any of the Oregon Public Universities.
