Spring 2019 Conference

The purpose of the National Council on Rehabilitation Education (NCRE) conference is to promote the improvement of rehabilitation services available to people with disabilities through quality education and research.

Conference Theme & Tracks

Theme – “Honoring our Rich History – Leading the Future”

Tracks:

  1. Advocating for the Profession and/or for Individuals with Disabilities.
  2. Educating Graduate Students in Rehabilitation Counseling: Best Practices and Outcomes.
  3. Educating Undergraduates in Rehabilitation: Best Practices and Outcomes.
  4. Emerging Strategies, Models & Interventions used in Collaboration with Individuals with Disabilities to improve Quality of life and/or Employment Outcomes.
  5. Integrating Multicultural Competency and Social Advocacy into the Rehabilitation Counseling Curriculum.
  6. Promising, Developing, and Existing Relationships and International Rehabilitation.
  7. Understanding the Impact of Disability on the Individual.
  8. Understanding Societal Impact on Individuals with Disabilities

Deadline date to submit proposal was MONDAY, NOVEMBER 12, 2018 by 10:00PM PT. No extensions provided after this date.

Conference Agenda

A draft agenda will be announced by mid January 2019. It will include detailed information for all workshops, presentations, meetings, etc. In the meantime, while the agenda is being finalized please make note of the following:

Tuesday, April 16, 2019 (pre conference day) – Registration will open at 7:45AM. There will be various workshops and presentations that will be held at various times throughout the day beginning at 8:45AM and concluding at 7:00PM.

Wednesday, April 17, 2019 – Registration will open at 7:15AM. This day will begin at 8:00AM and conclude at 7:30PM with the following to be held: President’s Welcome, Invited Speaker Presentation, Council Meetings, Anlar/Westat Payback Information Management System for Students, Concurrent Presentations (60 minutes),  Recruitment Meeting for Open Faculty Positions and Informational Meeting for Students Interested in Doctoral Study.

Thursday, April 18, 2019 – Registration will open at 7:30AM. This day will begin at 8:30AM and conclude at 4:15PM with the following to be held:  Continental Breakfast & Scientific Poster Presentations (1.5 hours), Seminar Presentations (1.5 hours), Award’s Luncheon and Concurrent Presentations (60 minutes).

Continuing Education Units

Continuing Education Units (CEU’s) will be available Tuesday, April 16 – Thursday, April 18, 2019 for the following: Pre-Conference Workshops, General, Concurrent, Seminar and Scientific Poster Presentations conducted during the conference. CEU’s for ethics and general credits will be available to all CRC holders. The CRCC forms will be available onsite at the registration desk and will include more detailed information needed to obtain CEU’s.
