The University of Maine Farmington is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Services within the Division of Community Health Education, Recreation & Rehabilitation Services. The institution encourages candidates who would qualify as an advanced assistant professor.

The Division of Community Health Education, Recreation & Rehabilitation Services invites applicants for a colleague who shares our commitment to inclusive Rehabilitation Services Education. This is a tenure-track position with primary teaching responsibilities that include introductory and upper level courses in Rehabilitation Services education. Experience in substance abuse is beneficial. Supervision of students in field placements is also required. Teaching load, including supervision, is 12 credits per semester or the equivalent. Interest in research and scholarly contributions involving students is highly desired. Other responsibilities include advisement of students and campus and community service. In addition to working closely with colleagues on campus, professional relationships must also be established with local and state social service agencies to ensure meaningful field-based experiences for the students in the program.

Qualifications:

This position will require a Ph.D, Rh.D., or Ed.D. in Rehabilitation or a closely related field, ABD’s will be considered. Demonstrated experience with various disability populations is essential. Preference will be given to applicants who have classroom teaching experience, evidence of scholarly activity, experience in higher education, and national professional licensure and/or certification. This position requires knowledge and experience in mentoring, advising, and career planning with undergraduate students.
