The University of Maine Farmington is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Professor of Rehabilitation Services for the Division of Community Health, Rehabilitation, and Recreation beginning Fall, 2020. Two full-time, tenure-track openings are available. Those who submit applications will be considered for both openings.
The Division of Community Health, Rehabilitation, and Recreation at the University of Maine at Farmington invites applicants who share our commitment to inclusive Rehabilitation Services Education. Teaching load, including supervision, is 12 credits per semester or the equivalent. Interest in research and scholarly contribution involving students is highly desired. Other responsibilities include student advisement service to the campus and the wider community. In addition to working closely with colleagues on campus, professional relationships are expected to be established with local, state, national, and international social service agencies to ensure meaningful, field-based experiences for students in the program.
The Rehabilitation Services Program has identified a number of future strategic directions for curriculum development including: employment for people with disabilities, psychiatric rehabilitation, addiction, the development of inclusive communities, and wellness for people with disabilities. In addition, the program will be converting a number of its courses to an online format. Therefore, experience with online teaching is desirable.
