This is a 9-month tenured/tenured-track faculty appointment in Department of Rehabilitation Counseling in the School of Health Science (SOHS) at Winston Salem State University. Tenure may be awarded after the candidate’s credentials have been reviewed through the University’s established procedures. Winston-Salem State University (WSSU), an historically Black, regional, comprehensive, liberal arts university is one of the 17 constituent institutions of the University of North Carolina. Located in the Piedmont Triad, university enrolls approximately 6,000 students, employs more than 400 full time faculty members, offers 42 undergraduate programs, eight graduate programs and two professional programs. WSSU is seeks an energetic and dynamic individual to serve as an Associate Professor or Professor in rehabilitation counseling online program. Duties include: teaching graduate courses in rehabilitation courses; supervise practicum and internship students; serve as academic and thesis advisor to graduate students; maintain an active program of research, publication, and sponsored research; participate in department, college and community service; work with a diverse faculty and student population; engage in distance education and course development via a variety of distance delivery modes. Teaching assignments will depend on department needs and individual expertise.
Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Counselor Education or related field from a regionally accredited institution. CRC required. Evidence of scholarly publications. Evidence of sponsored research or support for scholarship or expertise by relevant industry. Evidence of ability to use instructional technology and distance education modes. Experience providing clinical supervision to counseling trainees.Teaching experience at master’s level with at least 10 years of experience for Full Professor and 5-9 experience years for Associate Professor. Experience of mentoring graduate students and faculty in scholarly activities. Evidence of ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to accomplish organizational goals.
Preferred: Leadership in professional organizations. Reputation as recognized scholar and/or teacher in the field. Experience with learning or program outcomes assessment. Record of service to higher education and profession.
